Where to get started!!??😡

A puzzling question for many when we get started to learn something new. But don't worry!! Even I have been through such a stage before. So stop cracking your head and start following my footsteps... :-)


Before getting deep into SAP HR , one should be thorough with the SAP basics which are common for any SAP module. A clear understanding of these concepts will further help us to learn with more flexibility. So as of now don't think about the ocean of concepts that you need to learn to get into SAP. Every article eventually will add up as a water drop , and with time everything adds up to a ocean. 

SAP can't be learnt in one day. Proper time should be prioritised for practice as the saying goes "Practice makes man perfect"!!

So without much delay lets start our learning with the SAP basic terminology that we cannot avoid if we are a SAP consultant!!

When you browse about SAP HR , many concepts pops up with this word "Infotype". This will be the point of discussion here. What is an infotype?? What is its significance??

Infotype : Infotype is the screen in which the details of the employees is maintained.
I know a stereotypical dictionary definition will not suffice the explanation. So digging deeper what does it mean by maintaining the data of the employees?? 

Let me make it simple to a layman example. When you get hired to a company the company will maintain your data in the system. So in a ERP environment , this data is stored in infotypes (nothing but screens here) in the HRMS system. For example your basic details, address details, communication details, bank details ... and so on.


Once we get deeper into more articles you will understand it much better as of now just remember that Infotype is the screen where we can maintain or see the details of an employee.
