Getting started : SAP HR

SAP HR is one of the biggest and most in-demand module in SAP. In fact it is the most interesting module as  everything we do is related to the real time employee issues.

Personal administration in short PA is itself self explanatory. Person refers to "Employee", Personnel refers to "Group of Employees" and Administration meant for "Master data Maintenance".

In total the PA sub-module contains "Hire" stage to "Rehire" stage.

Organisation Management in short OM: It describes organisation structure and reporting structure for a specific period.

Similarly Time Management(TM) and Payroll are also the important sub-modules which helps to maintain the time related data of the employee and corresponding information is sent for payroll validation based on time data.

In SAP HR we maintain data in the infotype screens which will be transferred to HR master data. When we fetch data for any purpose it will seem like below where the data to fill the blanks is fetched from different infotypes maintained for that employee while hiring.

We are delighted to offer you the position (IT 0001) of ______. You will belong to ______ department (IT 0001). Your joining date will be ______(IT0000)and you will be paid a salary of ______ (IT 0008). You will be paid monthly allowances ______ (IT 0008 or IT 0014) and we are also offering you a joining bonus of ______ (IT 0015). You will be eligible for annual leave of ______ days (IT 2006) and sick leave of ______ (IT 2006).You will be on a probation for six months from the date of joining (probation date & confirmation date in IT0016). Your working hours will be from ____ hrs to ____ hrs beginning Monday to Friday (IT 0007) and we look forward to your presence on date ______(IT 2006)…..

If you are new to this technology (SAP) or this particular module SAP HR , don't worry.A year back I haven't even heard about it. All you need to do is to be enthusiastic to learn and make some time to practice what was explained in this blog.

Happy learning!!
