Creating Organisational Structure (Expert Method)
Hi Folks...
Hope you are all doing good!!
In my previous post I have explained you how to create an organisational structure using the staffing method. We can do the same kind of structure development using another method called Expert Mode.
Expert Mode is the easy and detailed maintenance of the objects. We can create objects individually and assign infotypes to them.
PP01 is the transaction code that is used for maintenance of different objects in one screen
Plan version:
Every company will have organisational plan. From organisational plan we can derive organisational structure.
When we want to maintain different structures without integrating their data, we use plan version. In real time , only one plan version is used. SAP recommends a " Standard plan version " ==> 01.
Plan version is a 2- digit alphanumeric code.
SAP HR module is a object oriented concept. Every object will have unique object ID 8 digit numeric code. This object ID can be generated in 2 ways.
1.Internal number assignment.
2.External number assignment.
In Internal number assignment the system will create the ID's automatically.
Where as in External number assignment the HR team manually creates the number.
Expert mode is also known as detailed maintenance.Relationships are flexible in expert mode and we can maintain all types of relationships in expert mode.
Using PP01 we can create multiple objects in one go...
To maintain the objects individually we have separate T-codes for each object creation. Like :
PO10 -Organisation Unit
PO03-Job
PO13-Position
PO01-Work Center
PO14-Task
The PP01 and other Tcode screen like PO10 , PO03 all look similar. Below is the PO10 screen for Org unit maintenance.
First select the plan version , The org unit field should be empty or else we end up creating overlapping records for the same object. Next select the list of infotypes we want to maintain for that particular object and at last select the time period validity during which the object will be active in the selected current plan.
After giving a name now we need to maintain the relationships of the corresponding object with other objects as per our requirement.Relationships can be manually created only in the Expert mode where as in simple maintenance method and staffing method relationships are automatically created.
What is a relationship? What is the importance of maintaining relationships is something we will learn in the next article.
Happy learning!!
