Relationships in Organisational Management

Hi Everyone.....!!

Hope you are learning and practising for good...

In my previous articles of Organisational Management and Expert mode creation of Org structure , I have promised you to explain about Relationships and the importance of maintaining relationships between different objects.

So what are relationships??
Objects are linked through relationships. Relationship lengths are 3 digit alphanumeric code Relationships are reciprocal in natural. These relationships are mostly similar in understanding to the real time family relationships. If ramu is father of raju , raju will be the son of ramu. Relationships are reciprocal does mean the same.

In standard SAP system relationships can be maintained in 2 ways.
1. A-Type : Bottom to top.
2. B-Type : Top to bottom.

Eg:         HR Manager reports to (A002) HR Executive.
HR Executive Line supervisor of (B002) HR Manager

SAP given codes like
A002 - Reports to
B002 - Line supervisor of

SAP recommended to maintain 2 way relationships because superior need to know sub-ordinate information and sub-ordinate should know superior information. Also it is recommended that if we create 1 way the other way is automatically created.

Except A011 relationship , in SAP all other relationships are 2 way . B011 is not used in SAP even in the real time projects even though it is existing.

Below is the list of relationships provided by SAP and the prefixes A and B are an add on to the relationship code depending on the bottom up or top down approach.

Enter the T-code 'OOVK'  to get the list of relationships.

Hope you learnt the basics as of now....practice for more grip!!!

Have a happy learning!!
